Max - Week 7

L. Arts: I reviewed nouns and verbs. One of the stories in my reader was about twins which was kind of fun. And the twins both had names that started with M and had the same hair colors as Mali and me.

Math: We did more practice with number bonds. I also practiced math facts on an app we have. Counted to 100 driving home from the park.

Science: This week in Hands On Science we learned all about rainbows! 🌈 We learned how they are made (white sunlight refracting through raindrops and separating into different colors), when you can see them (when the sun is pretty low in the sky and behind you, and the rain is off in the distance a bit), and that they are always in the same order. We learned ROY G BIV to help us remember the order. We observed white light separating into different colors with crystal prisms and also using a CD. We went on a quick scavenger hunt for the colors of the rainbow (popsicle sticks) and after we  assembled our rainbows we got some rainbow skittles.

History: We Learned about how ancient civilizations often were built near rivers because that made it easy to have enough water and also to trade with other places. We learned about India and the settlements in the Indus Valley. I colored a picture of a traditional indian mask.
Music: We Practiced our songs. This week was a no-parent class so we didn’t take our bells. I earned a ticket that I can save and trade in for a prize later.

Tech (Engineering): We built a lot with the math link cubes this week. In one of our co-op classes we learned about pulleys and got to experiment with them.

We decided this swing was a Twin Swing
