Mali Week 5

L. Arts: I read the Bob book Sam two times. I read some flashcards and also practiced my letter sounds flashcards. We got the Ziggy puppet and games and played the Apples for Ziggy game of sorting consonants and vowels.

Math: I played Speed to practice what numbers come before and after other numbers. We also played Dos which involves adding numbers. I did a couple pages in my math workbook on number sequences, too.

Science: We started reading Every Day Amazing and learned about how atoms just get reused over and over again. At co-op science class we learned about energy and four main types of energy and how it can change forms and also get transferred between objects.

History: We learned about Hammurabi and his written code of laws. He had all 282 carved in pillars and posted around his empire. Some of the laws were pretty out there and not really logical (like people’s kids could be killed if their parents did something wrong). But it was the first written set of laws that we know of in history.

Music: We learned a new Echo Ed song at music class. We did the Aladdin’s Lamp puppet show. We practiced the bells for our different songs and the hand signs.

Tech (Engineering): We got a Fort Magic set for our birthday (also for school but Mom wrapped it up for our birthday) and we built the submarine. We also built our birthday lego sets. And I earned a small animal lego set with reading points and I built that too.

My mom and I made these snakes. Mine is the one on the left.
I used perler beads for his body.

Playing with kinetic sand

I sorted and set up all of our plastic animals. Well, a lot of them.

I made this number poster on my birthday since I turned 7.
