Max - Week 10

Language Arts: We practiced writing letters and did a lesson in our language arts program. Mom bought some cool word twist things and we used those a little bit to practice reading words. They came on Friday.

Math: We practiced the addends that make 10 and built a 10 wall. We counted to 25. We played with Spielgaben and made patterns.

Tumbling & Trampolining: More practice of our different flips and jumps. Only 4 kids in our class this week so we had lots of trampoline time to practice since there weren’t many kids to rotate through.

Other: We went to Thanksgiving Point and played in the leaves at the Discovery Gardens. We also saw the Koi fish and collected pinecones. We had a co-op halloween party and a church halloween party. We had a live animal show come to our Animal Wonders class at co-op this week and we got to see a tarantula, a pacman frog, and a ball python.

Week 8 - Max

Language Arts: We did Reading Eggs activities this week a couple of times. We reviewed sounds of the letters we have learned and went over ways to remember which is lowercase b and which is lowercase d. Lowercase d has the “doughnut” come first and lowercase b has the “bat” come first.
I read the I See Sam book Sid to my mom.

Math: We practiced counting with the numbers 11-20. We also played some MathSeeds. We built with the math blocks and played “What’s under the cup?”
We made patterns with Spielgaben and explored the different shapes we could make with a row of blocks taped together.  I learned how to play Sushi Go and played with my brother and my mom.

Tumbling & Trampolining: Our teacher said we were doing really good at improving our skills, especially for being in Level 1. We are supposed to practice our jumps at home on our trampoline outside but it has been really cold.

Other: At co-op in our body class we learned about the brain and made models of the different brain parts with play-doh (see pictures). We learned about elephants in our animal class and how they are really good at smelling. We did an activity where we smelled different things in cups and tried to identify them. We also did an elephant pumpkin craft. There are two kinds of elephants--African and Asian.
