Week 32 - Mali

Math: In Number Fun we learned about parallel, perpendicular, and intersecting lines. We modeled the different types with popsicle sticks and also colored pictures that had the different line types. We also got to hop around on tape lines on the floor that were the three different kinds. We played Sum Swamp in Gameschooling. We played Buy It Right at home. We also did some fact family math on our new fact family dry erase boards.

L. Arts: I read a mini book. I did some writing practice. I made a picture book about a hippo who wanted a lot of different accessories.

Trampoline & Tumbling: We practiced our stretches, jumps, and tumbles. We are supposed to practice cartwheels and doggy drops over spring break.

Week 32 - Max

Mali - Week 31

Math: In Number Fun today we learned about graphs. We read a book about different kinds of graphs and then learned how to make bar graphs. We each got a bag of tiles to sort and graph and then a small bag of Skittles. We also did some graphs of things about us. Then at the end we did a Count to 100 “exercise” video just to get some wiggles out. I did some Snap Circuits projects and had to use the grid with numbers and letters to figure out where the different pieces need to go.

L. Arts: I read The Bed Bugs. I did a language arts lesson and practiced my flash cards. 

Trampoline & Tumbling: We did our stretches. We practiced our trampoline jumps, including knee grabs.

Max - Week 31

Math: In Number Fun this week we learned about graphs. We read a book about different kinds of graphs and then learned how to make bar graphs. We each got a bag of tiles to sort and graph and then a small bag of Skittles. We also did some group graphs of things about us. I played Pentago and Mancala with my mom. I hadn't played Mancala before and I really like it.

L. Arts (Max): I did two lessons in my Language Arts book. I got new flash cards to practice. I used a letter tiles app for my spelling words and it was fun. I passed off another list of sight words. I read three short books: The Hot Yak, The Bed Bugs, and one more I can’t remember the title of. I read a new book that went along with the lessons called Ben Has a Book. I did some Reading Eggs lessons. Mom and I looked up anagrams for my full name. It was funny.

Trampoline & Tumbling: We did our stretches. We practiced our trampoline jumps, including knee grabs.

Mali & Max Week 30 3/15/2019

Math: In our Number Fun class we learned about patterns. We got to make patterns with dot dabbers and also made some patterns with the kids in our class, like standing up/sitting down, and boy/girl/boy/girl. 

Language Arts: We practiced our flash cards. We read some practice readers. Mom read us some stories. 

Trampoline & Tumbling: We practiced our jumps on the trampoline. We practiced forward rolls and cartwheels.

Mali Week 29 3/8/2019

Math: In our Number Fun class we learned about measuring and we practiced using a ruler to measure how many inches something was. We also got to see how many inches we could jump forward. We played addition hopscotch again with the big dice as well. We played DOS at home with our brother, and also Sorry. 



Language Arts: We did a lesson in our language arts programs. We did some Reading Eggs on the computer.  I read The Fox Begs. I made a book with my mom’s help. I came up with the story and drew the pictures and she wrote the words for me.

Trampoline & Tumbling: We did the usual stuff this week. Practiced different jumps on the  trampoline, did stretches, and practiced cartwheels and rolls on the mats.

Other: We went to the Curiosity Museum again this week We had fun playing in the Water Works area. We really like the tornado cubby that blows on you really hard. For science we made homemade batteries with our MEL science kit and used them to power a small LED light. We watched a Magic School Bus video about electricity. We learned about Egypt. For Daddy Fun Time we went to my dad's new office and built a long exploding sticks chain. There is a video of it on Leif's blog. Mostly him and our dad built it because it is kind of hard to do. It was really fun though.
