Max - Week 26 2/15/2019

Math: This week in Number Fun we learned about even and odd numbers. If you can split something into two parts and there are no leftovers, the number is even. If there is one left over, the number is odd. In our Gameschooling class we learned how to play marbles and then we counted the marbles at the end. We also played War.

Language Arts: We did another language arts lesson. We made flashcards to practice our words and had fun putting them on the stairs to jump while practicing. We did some Reading Eggs lessons and had fun doing Teach My Monster to Read lessons on the iPads. Mom read us a couple of the entries in our book about awesome American women.

Trampoline & Tumbling: Dad took us to tumbling this week so we could go out for Daddy Fun Time after. We both climbed the big rope hanging from the ceiling!

Other: Our brother Leif had his birthday party at Classic Fun Center and we got to go. We celebrated Darwin Day (Charles Darwin’s birthday) on February 12. We watched some videos about Darwin and evolution and ate Darwin Day Donuts. We also went to the Museum of Natural Curiosity and had fun building with the foam bricks and checked out the Blood Suckers exhibit again. They have a blood sucker trivia Twister game.

Week 25 - Max

Math:
In our number fun class we learned about symmetry. Symmetry is when you could draw a line through an object and it looks the same on both sides. We use different items to make it symmetrical pictures and also folded paper in half and cut it to make symmetrical shapes to put in our number journals.

Language Arts:
We did another lesson in our language arts program. We did some reading eggs lessons. We did some handwriting practice.
Trampoline & Tumbling:
We practiced our jumps and our roles. One fun thing we get to do is on the three-part trampoline sometimes we get to do a freestyle and jump or move along it however we want to.

Other:
on Saturday our whole family went to a Jazz game. They played the Spurs. The jazz won 125 to 105. Also on Saturday our dad took us skiing to practice more. We are just learning the basics though.

Week 24 - Max

Math: We did some Spielgaben activities at home. In our Number Fun co-op class we learned about counting by 10s. We bundled up groups of 10 popsicle sticks and then counted everyone’s all together. There were 870!


Language Arts: We did some lessons on Reading Eggs. We did a lesson in our language arts program and practiced spelling words.
Max: I read the books Sam is Mad and Sis in the Well to mom.

Trampoline & Tumbling: We practiced our jumps and rolls. We did some rolls down the angled ramp mat to practice our backward rolls.

Other: Our brother had his birthday. We got to go to Lego League practice with our brothers and dad one night this week. We played outside quite a bit on the sunnier days and had fun playing basketball in the driveway. We also went on a bike ride with our mom. We caught a mouse in the garage and drove out to the fields by the river and released it.

Week 24 - Mali

Week 13 - Mali

Language Arts: We did some Reading Eggs. We did some language arts lessons. We watched Leapfrog letters and some of our Rusty & Rosy dvds. We got a small portable DVD player to watch our educational videos on and it’s really nice to have.

Math: We practiced addition and counting. We made shapes out of our Spielgaben cuboids.

Tumbling & Trampolining: We practiced our mat skills and trampoline skills. Our teacher keeps saying we will try and climb the long rope hanging from the ceiling but we haven’t done it yet.

Other: At co-op we learned about Arches National Park and how the arches were formed. We did finger painting and painted pictures of the arches. We also learned about fish and watched a video about the frogfish. They are really weird looking and interesting. At home for science we learned about center of gravity and how that affects how things can balance. We balanced potatoes on glasses using forks as counterweights. My mom got balance birds for all of us and those are really fun to play with.
