Mali WEEK 10

L. Arts: I did my Ziggy at the market game to practice phonograms. We also made some flip books for words and I practiced those. I read the book A Hat in my reader.

Math: We are doing a free trial of Dreambox to see if we like it. So far I like it okay. I did some activities with a ten frame on it. I also played Sleeping Queens with my mom. I also did some workbook pages.

Science: We read in our book Everyday Amazig about salt. We learned how it’s structure is crystal and we looked at some pink himalayan salt we have under our handheld microscopes. We also dissolved some in water and will watch as the water evaporates to see how it leaves the salt behind. It was interesting to learn that salt is made of sodium and chlorine. We watched some videos of sodium exploding in water and learned about how chlorine is a toxic gas. Both of those things are very different from salt!

History: We did not have a history lesson this week.
Music: No music class, but we did do our practicing. Our homework required us to listen to several of our different songs and identify if they had the sol-mi pattern or the mi-re-do pattern. Some had both.

Tech (Engineering): We got a neat app on our ipads called FlipAClip. You can make flip books. It’s fun.

Other: We went to the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point Gardens. It had a lot of cool scarecrows.

I got new purple shoes! I wanted shoes that tied.
