Mali - week 39

 For math we went over place value and how our number system is base 10, which means it takes ten of one thing to make the next larger thing. Ten ones make a ten, and so on. 

I finished up the silent e and silent e + s pages in my ToeByToe. I started on the next sentence page. 

I read some of my reader books. I read The Fox twice. I did some Explode the Code and some practice math besides our math lessons. 

I had a music recital. I played Caterpillar and Hickory Dickory Dock.

Max - week 39

 This week I had fun building with some of our math blocks. For math we went over place value and how our number system is base 10, which means it takes ten of one thing to make the next larger thing. Ten ones make a ten, and so on. 

I got a new electric scooter. I wrote a paragraph about it. 

I learned about what the subject is in a sentence. Also I learned about an implied subject, like the word “you” in a command. 

We had our music class recital. It went pretty well. 

I worked on another app for Bitsbox.

Max - week 38

 In my reader I finished the story about Ben and Mary and the cat. I had to answer some questions about the story. 

I also did math this week. We learned about the two-fives strategy to add numbers. We learned to play a solitaire game to practice addition. We played another game, too. And did some worksheets. 

We went to Thanksgiving Point to see the tulips. 

I am coding an app on Bitsbox. It’s called Bullseye. I want to do the challenge activity on it when I finish it. 

My mom and I were on our porch on the hammocks this week and we heard a funny bird call. It was kind of bubbly sounding in part of it. We got out the binoculars to look closer at it and we could tell it was mostly black. So we looked up on my mom’s bird app and were able to figure out what it was. It was cool because we saw two of them and they were singing to each other and lifting their wings up for part of their song. They were brown headed cowbirds.  Mom grabbed my sister’s camera because it has a nice zoom even though the pics aren’t that great really. 

We had stations week for music class this week. One of the activities was making the musical alphabet starting on different letters/notes. 

Mali - week 38

 For music class this week we had station day. My dad came so he could do stations with me and my mom could do them with Max. 

We went to the tulip festival at thanksgiving point. It was fun. We got hamburgers that were yummy. I took my camera and took some pictures. 

It was my mom’s birthday this week. I made her a picture with among us characters that look like Marvel superheroes because she loves Marvel.
