Mali - Week 24

 I worked more on my lessons this week. My word lists had ending blends to practice. We started RightStart Math and learned the Yellow is the Sun song. We practiced months of the year and days of the week. 

Our countries for geography were Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Eritrea. 

We learned about Robin Hood in history. 

I made some more FlipAClip animations. Here is one of them about a person hanging up a hammock.

I made a ukulele out of cardboard. Here it is when it was first done. Then I decided to papermache it. I am going to paint it, so I will share a picture next week of the finished project. 

We got to go skiing with our grandma. It was fun.

Max - Week 24

 I coded this app this week. It is called Ladybug Launch.

I am reading Bone book 3. I did lessons in ST Math this week. We also started RightStart Math level B. 

I practiced my piano songs and also went to music class. I am doing pretty well with all three chords in the left hand now. 

I had three swimming lessons this week. I was able to fix something to make my dives better, which was really good because I wasn't sure what needed to be fixed but my teacher explained it to my mom and my mom was able to explain it better to me. 

We learned to play a new game, Trekking the World.

Max - Week 23

This week I worked on a new app in BitsBox. I didn't quite finish it yet, though. It is more than 50 lines of code. I will keep working on it next week. 

Did fractions and adding with regrouping for math this week.  We also got my ST Math account working again. I like it. I really like penguins so it is fun that the character for ST Math is a penguin. 

I did five swim lessons this week. One day I did a double lesson, which is two lessons back to back. I am learning strokes and practicing keeping my legs straight when I swim.

Mali - Week 23

 This week I did more lessons in Toe By Toe. I finished reading the page full of sentences and started on the page that has ending blends. We also made sentences out of my practice cards. 

I worked on fractions in math. Naming, identifying, matching, and coloring them. 

I made some heart decorations for our house and camper for Valentine's day. I wrote a letter to my friends. 

We learned about King Richard I in history. We learned about the atmosphere in science. It is really thin compared to the size of the earth but really important. 

In music class we are learning the chords (red, yellow, blue) for the left hand. It is trickier to play them with the left hand than my right hand, but I am getting better at it. 

I didn't do any photography this week. But I did do some flip books in the Flip A Clip app. One of them is with a character from the game Among Us. 

Mali - Week 22

 One thing that was fun this week in school is making sentences with my word cards. We made some really silly ones. 

I made a letter for my friends who live next door. It took me about 25 minutes. I had to ask Alexa how to spell a lot of the words. I also worked on one of my books this week. I did my Toe by Toe lessons and my math lessons. I did some pages in Explode the Code as well. We started our new science class. We learned about the atmosphere.

Max - Week 22

 I started swimming lessons this week. The pool is covered by a big dome. It is only a 3 minute drive from our house so that is nice. I had four lessons this week. I went over floating and then learned kicks and some arm strokes. I like it. 

I finished Bone book 2. I started reading Bone book 3. 

I did pages in Explode the Code. I did my language arts lessons. I did math lessons. I played Gobblet and Trouble with my mom and my brother. 

I colored this picture of a samurai in our history workbook. I spent a lot of time on it. I really like how it turned out. 

We started our music class back up this week. We are starting to learn chords in the left hand. 

Mali - Weeks 19-21

I made a book and wrote a story in it. That one I made hardback and then I made another copy that was a paperback. 

I have gone skiing a few times this year and I love it! My dad got me a helmet now that I am going faster.

I am still working on my Toe By Toe lessons. I have read a couple of new readers that mom bought. They have parts that the parent reads and parts that the kid can read. One of them was about a dress up box and the pictures were really fun. 

I set up a little photo station on New Years Eve and we took some pictures with self timer. I also took a picture of my Pound Puppy that I got for Christmas. I took pictures of our pets and the new chicks we got.

Max - Weeks 19-21

 I have been doing more bitsbox coding. The most recent one I did has a crazy road that you are driving on and you run into a bunch of flies that splat all over your windshield.

I am reading the Bone graphic novel series. I really like it. 

I went snowshoeing with my mom and dad. It was my first time going. It was fun. It snowed the whole time we were out. 

We got some new math games and played them.  One of them is Monster Sock Factory. I can't remember the name of the other one. I've also been playing chess. I learned how to play MasterMind and I also played Battleship.

We had a Zoom call with our science teacher and some other students from the class. We were supposed to do a show or tell, and one thing we showed was our chicken Thelma.
