Max's Weekly Report - Week 6

Language Arts: This week we did a cut & paste activity matching some lower case and upper case letters. We also wrote the vowels on the back door windows with window crayons and practiced the sounds and some "-at" words on the white board to practice.

Math: We practiced counting from 11-20. We used our Spielgaben to make designs and pixel art.

Tumbling & Trampolining: We worked on forward rolls, bridges, and keeping our arms even distance apart when they are above our heads for jumps. We also did our regular trampoline practice. We are supposed to practice our cartwheels at home.

Other: At co-op we learned about Mt. Everest and made clay versions of Mt Everest. In our Amazing Animals class we learned about arctic foxes and how they change color with the seasons. We also learned about other animals and their camouflage. Arctic foxes often hunt things under the snow and they can only hear them and smell them, so we played a game where one person was blindfolded and everyone else had a bell on their wrist. The blindfolded person had to hunt the other people just by listening (see video).

Tumbling & Trampolining: We worked on cartwheels. There is a new big trampoline at the tumbling gym that we got to jump on. We practiced 360 degree jumps.

Max's Weekly Report, Week 4

Language Arts: We reviewed and practiced short vowel sounds and putting the vowels in order. One worksheet had us identify the first sounds of different pictures. We practiced Hey Willie Winkie.
Mom read us some more stories and our brother Leif read us some stories as well.

Math: We had fun with our Spielgaben this week. We got to play a game where we figured out what color ball was under the cup, we made shapes with the balls and yarn, we  did patterns with the different solids and played with the blocks. I also played Sequence Dice with my mom and brother.

Tumbling & Trampolining: We worked on our bridges. We practiced our toe touches on the trampoline.

Other: I turned 6 this week. I had a fun birthday. I got a Hulkbuster lego set, a stuffed narwhal, a big container of Tic Tacs, and some dinosaur pajamas. We had cupcakes for dessert. For my birthday dinner I picked hamburgers. At co-op we learned about frogs and had a fun activity where we used our "tongues" to catch insects--the papers had 2-sided tape on them so they would stick to our "tongues".
